10 Reasons That TV Can Drive You Crazy

The 24/7-news cycle is the cause of one area of constant irritation.  Repetition of some mundane story that they should only show one time, really gets me going to the point that I find myself yelling, “Enough already, who cares if Britney was seen wearing invisible undies.”

Fox News claims to be fair and balanced.  I guess they are practitioners of the idea that if you tell a lie enough times, the public will believe it.  They are so fair and balanced in their so-called reporting that they claim that they never used Bush-talking points.  Why then do you hear the same points coming from their news people as you hear almost verbatim from the Bush spokes people.

The lack of challenging thought provoking shows on regular TV.  Do the networks think only stupid people watch their shows?  They must as the only place you can see shows that make you think are public TV and cable shows.  It is a sad commentary that network execs have such a low opinion of the folks that watch free TV.  Lack of money for cable does not necessarily mean lack of brains.

Talk show hosts who constantly interrupt their guest after they ask the guest a question and the guest is trying to answer the question.  There are two reasons the hosts are rude like this.  One is the computer timed breaks and the other is they do not like the answer they are getting.  If I was a guest and I got this treatment, I would tell the host to either let me answer or I am leaving.  I certainly would not let them intimidate me.  O’Rielly is all about trying to intimidate a guest and Mathews is trying to get too much show in for the time allowed.  They both drive me crazy with their interruptions.

TV personalities that are trying to be funny and are not.   Either they should get better writers or quit the funny business.

Weather people who stand in front of the map and block the area they are talking about.  Weather maps are supposed to be a visual aide and not just a set prop.

Then there are the shows or movies that have as many minutes of commercials as they have minutes of show or movie.

Drug company commercials that suggest you tell your doctor what he should prescribe for your condition or illness.  That strikes me as being over the top.

Penis length ads, which are too cute by half, as they talk about that “certain part of the male body”.  Penis is not a restricted five-letter word as far as I know for a TV ad.

Sound level on TV is something that has been discussed for years. Most people swear that when the commercial is playing the sound is louder than when the regular show is on.  This has been a steady sentiment for years by the viewing public.
